Ayaneo has announced The Next Lite, their brand-new handheld gaming console. For this one, they went with Valve’s Linux-based SteamOS, while they have been using Microsoft Windows operating systems for their previous handheld consoles. It runs on the same operating system that fuels the Steam Deck. The Next Lite is the world’s first handheld gaming console that doesn’t come from Valve but uses SteamOS.
Specifications
The Next Lite comes with a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The company hasn’t revealed any numbers about the screen’s brightness, but according to them, it will be a high-brightness display. Something that’s confirmed is that the console comes with a 47Wh battery, hall-sensing joysticks, and X-axis linear vibration motors. Well, there’s no information about the processor, but considering the previous consoles from Ayaneo, it’s expected that AMD’s processor is going to be the heart of the Next Lite.
